§ 48-211. Authorization.

  • (a)

    The City Division of Public Utilities is hereby authorized to promulgate regulations, policies and procedures to address technical details related to the control of fats, oils and grease from entering any part of the POTW.

    (b)

    The Superintendent of Public Utilities or his designee has the right to review and issue a waiver to any portion of this division on the basis of quantitative analysis.

    (c)

    The wastewater generated from FPE shall be treated to remove FOG using an OIGGI, AGRU or SCGI meeting the requirements of this division and the CTDEEP General Permit for the Discharge of Wastewater Associated with Food Preparation Establishments.

    (d)

    All applicable local plumbing/building codes shall be followed during the installation of the grease removal equipment.

    (e)

    All classes of food providers as defined by the local Health Department are subject to review by the Division of Public Utilities, and shall meet pretreatment requirements specified in this division if deemed capable of creating FOG waste during their daily routine.
