§ 32-77. Benefits declared tax-exempt, unassignable, not subject to process.

  • The right of any person to a pension or to the return of contributions, or to any benefit or right accrued or accruing to any person under the provisions of this article and the cash and securities held under the provisions of this article shall be exempt from any state or municipal tax and from levy, sale, garnishment, attachment or any other process, and shall be unassignable. Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, the benefits provided under this plan may be made subject to qualified domestic relations orders.
