§ 2-455. Functions.

(a)

Purpose; duties. The Cultural Commission shall encourage within the City of Danbury, participation in, and promotion, development, acceptance and appreciation of, artistic and cultural activities which include, but are not limited to music, theatre, dance, painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, films and allied arts and crafts, and to this end may join with private patrons and with institutions and professional organizations.

(b)

Receipt and disbursement of funds. The Cultural Commission shall be authorized to receive and disburse local, state and federal funds and private monies for purposes within the jurisdiction and authority of the commission in accordance with standard municipal fiscal procedures.
